If I’ve given you my business card and you looked confused, I probably told you to visit my website. Allow me to explain.
In addition to being an Apple fanboy, I’m a retro video game enthusiast. I cut my teeth on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and to me, it symbolizes being a child of the 80’s. I decided to pay tribute to my love for the NES and its culture by creating my business card in the style of an NES game’s box art.
The earlier games Nintendo published for the console shared a common theme and style. Below, is a side-by-side comparison of the Super Mario Brothers box, and the front of my business card.
I used Adobe Illustrator to create the cards, and had them printed by Overnight Prints. All graphics except the Apple logo were created by me. I used my Mii character from Nintendo’s current video game console Wii, to fill in the space normally occupied by a scene from the video game. I think this works nicely to tie the present in with the past.
If you like my card and would like to know more about how I created it, or are interested in making your own please contact me.
